Tommy Taylor is presently endorsing products
by these fine manufacturers:
Tommy purchased his first new Ludwig 400
Snare drum in 1969 and his first new full set of Ludwig Drums in 1970.
In 1990 as Ah Via Musicom was gathering momentum in the Billboard Rock
chart, he toured extensively with Eric Johnson. As fate
would have it Tommy had 2 drumsets out on those tours, one of which
was a vintage Ludwig. When the group arrived to play in Ontario,
California, Tommy was approached by Todd Trent of Ludwig about
endorsing their product. Todd was both surprised and pleased to
see that he was already using Ludwig! He took a new Black
Beauty with him that day. Shortly after that meeting, Tommy took
delivery of a brand new Ludwig Super Classic drumset. After
countless tours and recording sessions he is still using that kit
today!
A user of Sabian cymbals since the company's
beginning, Tommy became a Sabian endorser in 1987. He
primarily uses the AA style cymbals with the occasional HH.
Tour sizes are: 24 inch Medium Heavy Ride AA, 14 inch AA Rock Hats or AA
Regular Hats, 17" Small Cup AA Medium Thin Crash, 20" AA
Medium Crash Ride, 20 inch AA China, 18" AA Medium Crash with
rivets, 13 AA Sound Control Crash.
Since the early 90's Tommy has played
drumsticks by Rimshot of Ontario, Canada. After playing many
different sizes and varieties he mainly uses a stick called the 5A
Piranha. It is his opinion that these are the finest drumsticks
made. These are very long sticks. They have incredible balance,
control and power, though they are very lightweight. Rimshot Drumsticks
are distributed through their parent company, Rapco International.
